Norway Tour ?? Day 10
My GDR past catches up with me. A little tired of driving and dodging the rain front, we try to find a café or hotel lobby in the off-season where we can take a longer break. To recharge our own batteries and those of our equipment. In Nesflaten we find what we are looking for. Outside it says "Historic Hotel", inside it keeps its promise. I feel like I'm in an FDGB home. Even the furniture looks like I remember it. Gerd has to laugh when I even tell him that we were even divided into 2 "shifts" to eat in these houses back then.
But now back to the hotel. The coffee tastes far too bitter, but it wakes us up. But the view is breathtaking. We are the only guests, the owner proudly tells us about the building, about the idea here and about the renowned architect Geir Grung, who built this house in 1962 (see, deepest GDR!). And of the architect's daughter, who later did a light renovation and designed the extension. The owner couple is particularly happy that the interior furnishings have been almost completely preserved.

We load everything up here once, after all it is an energy hotel (energihotellet.no), and two and a half hours later we continue in the direction of Hardangerfjord, full of beans. We really felt at home here.
