Norway Tour ?? Day 16
Lillehammer. Somehow everyone knows this small town. "The best Winter Games ever!" they say here. Everything here is Olympic somewhere. Even the manhole covers. We take a room in the youth hostel. It's actually in the station building. The check-in could also be a station café. The windows look out onto the tracks. We are a bit lucky: the station is currently closed due to track construction work - the rail replacement traffic is handled by buses.
We stroll through sugar-sweet Lillehammer and visit the Olympic Museum. Afterwards - it seems to be museum day today - we also visit the National Museum about the history of Norway. And tomorrow, if all goes well, I'd like to go up to the ski jump. You can take the Gondeli up there, or trudge up the 900 steps. We'll see which suits us better.
