Great Journey 🇨🇭 Day 469
We are pros at doing things we know nothing about. Winter camping is one of them. Free standing (i.e. without a booked camping site) is also. Instead of driving south and walking the beaches in flip-flops, we are drawn to the mountains. Into the snow. And, not to forget: into solitude.
Because we see few campers here. In fact, none at all. We are all alone on the overnight pitches. We already love winter camping. We don't have to look far to find beautiful and especially lonely pitches to call "home" for the night.
Here directly at the deserted lake with romantic restaurant connection, there at the Aareschlucht (Aare gorge) full of clubs in summer or quite princely in the castle garden (castle garden car park?) at Münchenwiler.
And we notice that we are not the only ones who like such seclusion. Especially at weekends, people with powerful and noisy motorised vehicles flock to cul-de-sacs and turnarounds. We, disguised as an old married couple with Advent wreath candlelight and a visibly knitting Heike in the window, seem to favour the quick departure of those who want to be alone. And already we are alone again. Sorry, folks, tomorrow you'll have your place to yourselves again!
