Great Journey 🏍 Day 81

I think we're slowly settling in. We are having a barbecue in a tiny little group (what is allowed) and are once again given presents.

We get to know "the real" ouzo (i.e. me only the glittery appearance and the medicine smell, Gerd also the taste).

Once again we dip fresh bread in even fresher olive oil. (I don't really need more than that to be full and happy) And yes, there's a barbecue. For me, of course, vegetables marinated in the most delicious herbs and feta. For the others, it's just what "you grill like that" and I don't touch it 😉

And they give us bunches of herbs, poor us, we don't have a garden after all.

We can experience and learn a lot from the people living here. Listen, talk, laugh a lot. And learn new jokes. They were really good, but of course I don't dare to tell them here. (To be honest, we don't have such a great memory for jokes).

At the end, with the sun setting and no longer as warm as our clothes, we make our way home and get to pick another huge bag of grapes. At home I notice that there is a difference between bought and self-picked grapes: the self-picked ones have shrivelled, old, new, mouldy, unripe and a whole lot of ripe grapes on one stalk and are accompanied by little animals. But now they are swimming in the Brünneli. The critters, that is. We enjoy the beautiful grapes and are once again happy for so much time in one place.
