Great Journey 🏍 Day 355
One moment of not paying attention and we lose our way. The Darial Gorge is beautiful in itself. But as we know from Switzerland, the small side valleys are full of treasures. That's how we find the enchanting Gveleti waterfalls.

The way there would probably not please any TÜV inspector. It feels more like "no way". We fight our way through the undergrowth, climb over wobbly stones (were they once supposed to symbolise a staircase?) and glide on sharp slate slabs towards our destination.

High above us, birds are making their rounds. While Gerd takes photos, I read the nature guide. These birds turn out to be eagles, so it's good that my binoculars are nicely packed away in Malou. But even so we can observe them, their elegance is unique.

And suddenly we feel that pull of freedom again. To be able to just take off and fly away. To be a kind of eagle ourselves, to unfold our wings and take off. To be able to surrender to the area, the weather, the different cultures. We look at each other and know that we are on the right path. Okay, we bring neither elegance nor lightness with us, but a bumblebee couldn't fly either if it took "knowledge" so seriously.
