Slovakia - The Middle of Europe

Slovakia - The Middle of Europe

First of all, let us explain: For us, Central Europe is actually Germany, Switzerland and Austria. But that's not true at all. (Typical self-centred-distorted self-perception).

The geographical centre is in Slovakia! We would never have thought it, but as we all know, travelling educates!

But I have to correct myself right away: There are countless centres in Europe. This depends, on the one hand, on who measured and, above all, when. On the other hand, who counts which island groups in the north, west or south. And: do you count the EU or Europe. There are midpoints for everyone who needs them. There is one in Germany, one in Austria. Even in Estonia and in Poland.

So it's not that simple, we decide to head for the Slovakian centre for this trip.

And lo and behold: there is a stone that says quite clearly: centre! And what it says must be true.

We wonder what the beings, human or alien, will say thousands of years from now when they have to dig up all the centre stones and write the textbooks.

Fortunately, that's not our problem. We were there, in the centre. At one! And put a tick behind this "exciting" experience.
