Great Journey Day 626

big trip day 626 after all the orga nonsense get sim card get money and learn left-hand traffic

After all the organisational nonsense (getting a sim card, getting money and learning to drive on the left), we are drawn directly to the coast. The coast around Dover shines with its white cliffs.

We eat "this English food" for the first time and are thrilled. Beetroot Wellington with spring potatoes and Tarragon cream (I could have sworn it was a Café de Paris sauce). Gerd indeed had to try fish & chips. Both terrific!

What we only realise later (on the bill?) is that we must have got a very very good restaurant in a very very nice place. And now decide that English cuisine is pomfortionous and that this will now be the standard by which we measure everything. So simple.

The good thing about this "really really" (as the young people always say now) good restaurant is that it is right by the sea and we are allowed to spend the night in the car park. "Really really" great.

We find a spot between the restaurant and the coast and turn Felix around so that he has sunrise-over-the-sea-from-bed perspective and hope for a cloudless sky in the morning.

What a Day!

Merci for "travelling with us

We are thinking about taking another break from travelling in the summer and visiting our families in Germany and Switzerland. One of the ideas is to organise a Lecture about our long journey to the Persian Gulf to prepare. If you would like to, what would interest you the most? We will also tell stories here that don't find a place here on the blog. We're thinking of the Bern and Berlin area - simply because we have family there. But other places are also conceivable. Feel free to write to us.

Do you think our travel experiences might be of interest to others? Then you can share the Share post quietly. By e-mail or however you want to do it.

In addition, if you haven't already done so, you can use our Newsletter subscribe. Here you will receive all our experiences in your mailbox whenever we publish something new or once a week on Fridays: live-pur.ch/newsletter

We are also very happy to hear your views, your tips or your questions. Just comment on the post!
