Before we pay a short visit to England (yes, we have plans to go on!) we would like to review the last Scotland:
The best thing first: Scotland is so great, beautiful, the people are super friendly and we will definitely be back.
🌦 Looking back, we like to see the good things: Rain? Yes, we had it. But this nature is so much more beautiful than "a little" rain can ever spoil!
🚐 The road traffic is so quiet, you can really relax and drive even the narrowest roads and "steepest" passes.
Strange traditions, a painful history and the joy of our own country have met us day in and day out.
🥃 No, we didn't go to any distilleries or pubs, we didn't drink any ale or whisky. We didn't "do" a Munro and we weren't at Loch Ness. We weren't interested in golf and we didn't visit the "most important" castles in the usual travel guides.
️ And we still fell in love with Scotland. We realise, especially on a trip like we are doing, that there are as many different Scotlands as there are visitors. Each and everyone takes home different insights. We flip through our diary here and realise how many wonderful moments we were able to experience, how many great people we met and we now understand the desire of almost everyone to come to Scotland "once in a lifetime".
️And: since it's warm and rain-free here too, we've almost forgotten about the rain in Scotland.
