Great Journey 🇳🇴 Day 559
Before we even open our eyes, we discuss who will open the window first to enjoy the view. Before the first coffee, I'm a loser when it comes to arguments. So I lose out to the "I'm-just-sitting-here-quietly" husband - as is usually the case.
So I crawl to the foot end and let the blind flick. And decide that I will spend the day here and now. When I share this with my fellow traveller, he smiles mildly, knowing full well that there are needs in his wife's life that never leave her in bed for long.
He is right. Because when the smell of coffee wafts through the bedchamber, I am quickly out of bed.
And now that I'm awake and out of bed, it could be a wonderful day of driving after all. So we stroll along the lonely Fv17. The view is simply fantastic. The small waiting breaks at the ferries are a relief compared to the countless bumpy street hops Felix makes.
In the evening, I look in the cupboards, confused. Everything is still intact. I would have expected a pile of broken glass on the night of the party! The road conditions are not so good here. Means: drive even slower. After all, it's a scenic view road!
We pass the seven sisters (petrified virgins, you know, trolls & daylight and all that!) and a lot of other oddities. We slowly say goodbye to winter, see the snow further and further away on the mountain tops and discover the first spring flowers on the hiking trails.
What a winter it was! Never in our lives have we had it so cold, so exciting, so cosy, so cosy, so familiar and so wintry as last winter!
