My goodness, we were excited. For weeks we sorted through thousands of pictures, instead of preparing the talk, we reminisced. "Look, do you remember?" or "What haven't we already experienced!"
At some point we finally made it. We found a nice place in the Emmental, lots of peace and quiet, the odd cowbell and a little "bio-noise" from birds and toads. The presentation is ready, the videos edited, we practise. We realise that it is much too long. We have to cut back, throw out topics. A pity really, but who wants to listen to what feels like seven hours on a Saturday evening in summer?
But how do you manage to pack almost 3 years into a good hour? Only now do we realise how hard it is. Our admiration is immediately assured to all presenters who manage it!
The registration list filled up, we have 41 registrations, we are excited. Sitting in our Felix one last time, hugging each other and wishing with all our hearts that we can give all our guests a little joy, a lot of entertainment and a little inspiration. And us? For us, we wish fun.
Somehow we didn't quite notice the lecture ourselves, we rather functioned, looked into your eyes and enjoyed your interest, your laughter and your nods of approval. Yes, even the tears that were shed. In your faces and in ours too, of course.
And now all we can say is thank you.
Merci to Steiners Wohnmobile, namely Michael, Sandra and Erich Steiner. They not only provided us with the room and the technology free of charge. They also gave us a bulging fridge with drinks and full tables of aperitifs. "Please help yourselves, it's all for you!". They answered questions, guided our visitors through the workshop, listened, took suggestions for improvement from the numerous LaStradis who came.
And as if that wasn't enough, we were allowed to barbecue on the terrace in the evening with everyone who stayed longer, share the kitchen and even have breakfast together the next morning.
We are just grateful for so much hospitality. Many thanks to Michu and his team!
A huge Merci also to you, our guests! They came from near and far. If we saw it right, even from Cologne. You crazy people! It was a great pleasure to tell you about our trip and to answer your questions. Thank you all for coming. It was a wonderful sign of encounter for us.
A very big thank you for your generosity.
We have 581 CHF CHF 1,081 transferred to "Bayasgalant - Children's Aid Mongolia. Thank you to everyone who put something in the basket. For all those who want to check again where the money went, here is the link https://www.bayasgalant.ch/ and here is a small, wonderful film made on the occasion of the 10th anniversary. https://www.srf.ch/play/tv/reporter/video/die-jurtenkinder?urn=urn:srf:video:bfee5359-2f81-4d78-8dba-01651e819b79 (with German subtitles for all those who are not so well versed in the beautiful Swiss German!)
Bayasgalant is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year! Thank you again for your donations to this valuable work!
By the way: the phrase "We don't make plans any more, we only have ideas" was borrowed from Barbara & Robert without being asked and found to be good! Have a listen here: https://ride2seetheworld.de/hoergeschichte-mit-robert-barbara/
Full of gratitude and joy, I would like to close again with one of my favourite quotes by Rolf Lange: "Whenever two strangers meet without ulterior motives, it's human".
PS: Fancy another lecture? We are currently thinking about where and when ...
PPS: If you find yourself in a photo without wanting to, please let us know. We will then remove the picture from the blog.
We owe the photos of the event to Marcel Moser. Thank you for that, and for so much more!
Merci for "travelling with us
We are thinking about taking another break from travelling in the summer and visiting our families in Germany and Switzerland. One of the ideas is to organise a Lecture about our long journey to the Persian Gulf to prepare. If you would like to, what would interest you the most? We will also tell stories here that don't find a place here on the blog. We're thinking of the Bern and Berlin area - simply because we have family there. But other places are also conceivable. Feel free to write to us.
Do you think our travel experiences might be of interest to others? Then you can share the Share post quietly. By e-mail or however you want to do it.
In addition, if you haven't already done so, you can use our Newsletter subscribe. Here you will receive all our experiences in your mailbox whenever we publish something new or once a week on Fridays: live-pur.ch/newsletter
