On the ninth day you have to rest. Or something like that.
Moppi and I experienced the same thing that night as Kathi 2 days before. Diarrhoea and vomiting. While Moppi is fit again in the morning, I am so depressed that I just lie down all day. As soon as I sit up, I feel dizzy.
Gerd is not doing so well either, but he does not vomit.
The kids go into the water for almost 4 hours, get sunburnt and come back hungry.
As soon as you leave the children alone and don't pay attention, they burn in the sun.
I am so glad that Gerd is with me. He organises another night here, because travelling is out of the question. We also change to a room with air conditioning. That does me a lot of good. I lie down and sleep. Even reading is out of the question.
In the evening, another miracle happens: Alex uses my homemade Riblusa, my marigold ointment, for the first time. So the sunburn must be hurting him a bit.
Kathi is very loving and cares for me. In the evening, the three of them go out to eat and bring me a water melon, which I spoon out and which does me a lot of good. Slowly I'm getting better again.
Around half past eight, Gerd and Kathi set off for turtle-watching and Alex and I get a good night's sleep.
Shortly before 12 Gerd comes home and tells us that he has seen huge turtles. I think he is very happy. I can't say much about it, I've somehow been jolted out of a deep sleep.
This night is much better and we sleep soundly.
