Great Journey 🏍 Day 397
🇹🇷 Gerd
The morning starts in Göreme with a wonderful breakfast. It's low season, the little street cats have to mew louder to get some of the breakfast from the few guests. With me, they are preaching to the choir, 1/3 for me, 2/3 go to the cute little crybabies. Let them eat their fill!

And off we go across the plateau. The fact that I'm freezing once again is exclusively due to the fact that no one put my quilted jacket on me in the morning. It's amazing how much plateau Turkey has. And how fresh it can be here in October.

In the evening, I have to confess to my sweetheart on the phone that Malou is (was) a little dirty pig of the particularly persistent kind. The app "Kurviger" guides me through beautiful areas. Unfortunately, Kurviger knows nothing about a fresh road. First I drive 20 kilometres of sand-prepared dirt road, that might have been a bumbling. But back there, finally, tar! What I don't realise is that it's fresh tar, very fresh.

After several kilometres I even catch up with the tar machine, overtake it and am now back on sand.

While I'm thinking about what Malou looks like down below, I plan to never get off again, not to look at the dilemma and just put my hands in front of my eyes like a little child to hide.

At some point, however, the time has come, I look for a hotel and take a look at the sand-tar-sand Malou, which by now weighs several kilos! All that's missing are the feathers and I'd have a travelling swan.

But the universe has made provisions: opposite the hotel I find a car wash with helpful and enterprising men (when they see the dilemma, however, they rightly correct the price upwards!) and Malou flashes again after an extensive scrubbing. Thanks guys! And by the way: that was probably Malou's first bubble bath!
