Great Journey 🏍 Day 357/2
Truso Valley: The river makes a bend, we with it and already the next beauty: The sparkling water lake. It is said to have healing powers. Unfortunately, this carbonated mineral lake not only does not meet our requirements in terms of temperature (i.e. it is unheated!), minibuses full of people are brought here just for quick selfies.

We wait, marvelling at the bubbles in the lake. High above us, on the steep mountain slope, cows are grazing. What they want up there is a mystery to us, down here there really would be enough fresh green.

At some point, we manage to snap a photo without any mini-rock glossy magazine selfie people on it.

We hike on, the valley opens up, we let our eyes wander. At the end we recognise the dilapidated village of Ketrisi. We are accompanied in part by donkeys and donkey children (well, they are cute to begin with!).

Shortly before the village we finally take a break. Picnic is the order of the day. We nibble on the delicacies from the breakfast buffet, eat it all up, are still hungry and try to paralyse our hunger (mostly it's probably just appetite!) with lots of water and stroll on.

There are indeed still a few people living in this hamlet, but there are certainly not many. Maybe three or four? And a lot of cows, horses, donkeys and chickens.

We could continue to the Zakagori Fortress, but we turn off because we are
our legs already feel something, knowing full well that it's still a corner. Besides, after the Zakagori fortress it would be over for us anyway, here is the border to South Ossetia, which we would not be allowed to cross officially anyway.

So we trudge back on the opposite side of the river, are caught up by the two hikers for the umpteenth time (how do they do that?).

We have one hour left and it promptly starts to rain. So we finally get to use our rain jackets, otherwise we always carry them around unused in the mountains! We arrive at the pick-up point in the rain, fall onto the back seat of an ancient taxi and only when we get out do we feel that our legs would have liked to sit a little longer.
