Great Journey 🇳🇴 Day 561
We leave Vega with heavy hearts.
(Why are we leaving Vega again? We don't really know ourselves!)
At the ferry we have to wait longer than expected, I unfold the camping chair and work a little.
Once over there (over there is Brønnøysund), we are tempted by another troll story. The short version, with no guarantee of detail, goes like this: a disobedient, presumably hormone-controlled troll king's son is in love with a respectable maiden who is supposed to look after seven wild young girls, all of them royal children (from another troll king, there seem to be a lot of them!).
When he rides across the fjord in wild testosterone manner (aha, our Felix could learn that then) the maiden and the king's daughters flee somewhere. While the virgin has no interest in the guy, the seven sisters could already imagine marrying him. Anyway, he only wants the virgin, doesn't pay attention to the girls.
They don't know why, but he shoots an arrow at the virgin. Another king sees this, throws a hat into the flight path and saves the virgin. The hat remains perforated on the island of Torget. Before everyone even realises what has happened, the sun comes over the mountain and everyone, including the hat with the hole, is petrified.
They called this hat "Torghatten" for us tourists and declared it a hiking destination.
And what do we do? We hike up once, through the hole in the arrow, and back down again. An hour and a half later and what feels like a thousand "sunset photos" later, we are sitting in Felix, me quite happy about the hat story and Gerd whimpering about his still muscularly sore calves.
Well. That's the way it is!
