When we wake up in the mountains in the morning, we notice something that always haunts us: We no longer feel like sightseeing, special places and "we still have to go there".
So we take a leisurely drive, off the main road, through the mountains that wind along the north coast of Tunisia. We can't get enough of the green nature, the goats and sheep here have more than enough to eat, the trees are densely packed in the forests and every now and then a palm tree gets lost.
The storks spend the winter here, as do many bird species. Until now we always thought: "They fly to Africa, far to the south", but now they are here, that seems to be enough for some of the birds.
After a good two hours of driving through fantastic landscapes, we reach the northernmost point of Africa. And we should actually get out, take photos and so on. Instead, Gerd places our Felix lengthways into the wind (then it rocks much less, the Felix), we let the sun warm our little house and lie down. Saturday afternoon on the couch, so to speak.
We decide that it is now the weekend. Read, watch films, play cards and go to bed early. Maybe tomorrow will be a good day for "we were here" photos. Let's see.
Merci for "travelling with us
We are thinking about taking another break from travelling in the summer and visiting our families in Germany and Switzerland. One of the ideas is to organise a Lecture about our long journey to the Persian Gulf to prepare. If you would like to, what would interest you the most? We will also tell stories here that don't find a place here on the blog. We're thinking of the Bern and Berlin area - simply because we have family there. But other places are also conceivable. Feel free to write to us.
