Great Journey 🏍 Day 271
The Strandzha Mountains in the border region with Turkey once again enchant us with their hilly and densely forested landscape. 80% of the nature park (by the way, once again something from "our" Unesco list) consists of beech and sessile oak primeval forest.

In the east, it meets the Black Sea, the coast is very rugged and the sea slams into the shore in full force. Way down in the south, the (the?) Veleka flows out of the mountains directly into the sea. There is an enchanting beach here. Where we have to go, of course.

Unfortunately, we only find out on site that we are not allowed to swim there. The waves are huge, as are the rocks under the water. The sand is so hot that we jump around like seasick people and quickly look for a shady spot.

But: we have once again fulfilled one of our daughter's wishes: to lie lazily on the beach. However, we realise that this is not our thing at all. While she sunbathes (and burns, of course!) we are glued to our smartphones and chat with our colleagues at the canteen on Fridays. We are simply not made for beach lounging.
