Our week in Appenzell is drawing to a close. And we are actually leaving this beautiful region only to find ourselves on the "Grand Tour of Switzerland".
However, we believe that the round tour is mostly intended for the snow-free periods. The route leads through the beautiful areas of Switzerland, past places that are really worth seeing.
As often as possible, we take part of this recommended route instead of the expressway. Today we are heading towards Central Switzerland. To do so, we have to cross a few smaller passes. Unlike the big passes, they are still open, even the post bus runs here. So we should easily manage that.
We climb higher and higher, the road surface first hides under slush, then later under packed snow. We are almost the only ones here, we can stop where it suits us and at the top of the Schwägalp bend we have breakfast in the "Café Felix".
We are fascinated by the "beautifully opened water" and can't stop ourselves from taking pictures here and there. Felix rolls wonderfully with his new winter shoes, we can do without snow chains (yet).
