Great Journey 🇳🇴 Day 556
We stroll through Trondheim, not wanting to be at the pier too early again. But towards mid-morning we see her: "Our Hurtigrute". The ship is called Trollfjord, which suits us perfectly.

We check in, move into our mini-cabin, throw our backpacks on the bed like we used to do with our schoolbags and head off. First we discover all the floors, wander through the corridors and look for something to eat.

First realisation: it's a bit like a cruise ship. Would have expected it to be a bit more "down to earth". Here a bar, there a café. At 2 p.m. they call for a lecture. In German!

We first move into the glassed-in lounge, the Trollfjord sets sail, a super loud hummer, and off we go. The best thing about this kind of travel is that you see the country from the seaside (unfortunately Felix can't offer that) and chug quietly from fjord to fjord. We start talking, yes, German is spoken here too.

Most guests here drive the whole way, 11 days to the North Cape and back. We only stay 2 days. We are a little envious right away. But better two days than none at all.

After the lecture (of course, we do everything, we are real tourists now!) we sit in the lounge again and let Norway drift past us. Here a lighthouse, there a few skerries and holms. I knit with the best view ever (by the way, an incredible number of women knit here!), we read the books in the library and chat with other travellers.

Speaking of travellers: we suspect that we have lowered the age average somewhat. Even though we are no longer young things. But no matter, we now let ourselves be ferried back to Bodø and feel very comfortable.

Is it the regular humming in the ship, the cosy coffee break(s) or simply the totally relaxed atmosphere here? We don't know, but we could do 11 days! Easy!
