Great Journey 🏍🏍 Day 24

Salzburg. We could now tell you about Mozartkugeln (real or original?), about a city walk (yes, the feet hurt a bit!) or about the concert in the Mirabell Gardens (wonderful!).

Or from the city hike up the Kapuzinerberg. Right behind our hotel. Steeply up. Steeply down. And an archway away from the hustle and bustle of the old town. We watch squirrels fetching winter food, enjoy the view over the city far into the Salzburg Alps and take a rest in the Franziskischlössl. Then, a little later, we start our descent.

We let ourselves drift through the city, realise that today is a holiday (Rupertikirtag, aha! Lots of people in traditional costume.) and yet all the shops are open. Besides, from now on a midday nap is part of a city trip for us, after all we are here for a few days and can take our time. However, this is abruptly interrupted: a small band is playing directly under our window. Loud! Cheerful! And really good!

This is somehow a nice new realisation of our trip: we have time, we don't have to "tear down" all the sights in one day. So we stroll through the day and the city, take it easy, continue to wait for our motorbike key and check the weather app, which offers snow and a refreshing 1° C during the day for the Grossglockner route.
