Great Journey 🏍 Day 66

We leave Patras. The plan is made - for once we really need a plan! We will spend the next 3 weeks in Koroni (kind of ironic, isn't it?), a small harbour town on the south-eastern tip of the Peloponnese peninsula.

But we really enjoy the last day before the lockdown. We hardly drive along the coastal road, but criss-cross through the mountains. The roads are almost empty, we roll comfortably over fabulously high passes (once even up to 800 m!) and enjoy the sun. We take a break in an old oak forest. The temperatures are about 20° to 22° degrees, without wind and already very warm in the sun. Simply beautiful!

We have also slowly become accustomed to driving together. Malou is a bit too fully packed and my getting on and off the bike is still a bit tricky. We think about what makes more sense: do we send some more luggage home or do I have to become more limber? (Actually, it's more a question of which is possible...) But we postpone the decision - after all, we've only been in one place for 3 weeks!

As we drive through the villages, people smile and wave at us, we wave back. Greece, we like you already!

Our next destination will be Olympia, more about that later. After all, we have time!
