Great Journey Day 436
Instead of the motorway, criss-cross through the Black Forest.
Actually a great idea.
By now we are not very experienced with traffic jams and have slightly, only slightly, underestimated the following Friday evening traffic around Stuttgart.
But first, the Black Forest. A very beautiful region even in November. Now and then foggy soup, then sun again and a clear view of Titisee and Feldberg. Up on the Feldberg we treat ourselves to a tarte flambée for three. To be honest, we are still very full from our sumptuous breakfast and tell ourselves that we really aren't that hungry. But for the three of us, food is always good.
We are the only guests, probably mid-season. And we receive a super-friendly welcome. We wonder about the snow up here and at the same time look gratefully at our winter tyres. We fill up with a little vitamin D from the mountain sun and then leave at some point.
We continue in the aforementioned traffic jam, 10 hours after leaving Bern we finally arrive, granddog and granddog owner are happy, we are happy too. And after a wonderful dinner together and the dog briefing "how do I have to take care of Max so that he is still happy and healthy with his master and mistress after 10 days", we fall dead tired into bed.
Because: that takes energy, so many kilometres, so many new things, so much observing oneself and the new house on wheels.
