Big break 🇨🇭 Day 428
7 more sleeps.
🚐 Then we move. Into our first mobile home together. (The tent thing was more of an air act).
Those who know us (should it be me?) know that here in the transitional hostel the floor is full of completely organised stacks.
🏻 A stack of kitchen: yes, finally kitchen again!
🛌 Another pile of bedding incl. lots of blankets/pillows. Yes, our new home will have to show what it can do in winter.
🛠 Then there's the pile of tools, cables, hoses, electricity and odds and ends.
We are discussing the pile of clothes right now. Ski pants, bikini, umbrella and evening dress? (Tips from experienced Vanlifers welcome - but without guarantee of implementation).
Then there's the bathroom pile, which is somehow still very very mini. The unused first-aid kit goes from the bike bag into the van bag.
🧹 Oh, also new is the pile of cleaning stuff. Two or three cleaning rags, a broom and a dustpan. We found a window squeegee in our closet. Do we need it?
🤷🏻♀️🤦🏼♂️ And then there's the "miscellaneous" pile. That's where our friends (or future former friends?) laugh a lot at us. Garden gnome, crochet and knitting things, hammocks, sewing machine, clothes pegs, family photos and marigold ointment making supplies.
️ Anything else you forgot? Most certainly.
🤓 But everything will be found. Stuff will be cleared out again, other things will move in.
What we learned on our journey: everywhere in the world, people dress, brush their teeth, drive cars and cook. So we will also find things that we are missing everywhere.
And because so many people have asked what kind of camper it will be, we show our first picture here instead of the preparation chaos. Let me say this much: Gerd can stand upright and sleep stretched out. And no, we still don't know how to screw and tinker, so it had to be a ready-to-go one. Doing it ourselves would have jeopardised our previously harmonious relationship. So simple.
